Heather and her Phantasm cake:
Poorly-Defined Flop House Contest Autumn 2015
Thank you for your interest in The Flop House Podcast and our current ill-defined contest. Each year we try to encourage our listeners to flex their creative muscles and deliver some breath-taking artwork. In the past years, we have focused on singing and songwriting. This time we are asking for you to produce some visual art.
In the next month or so Stuart will be opening a new bar, Hinterlands, located in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn. One of the requirements of a bar or restaurant in New York City is that there is a prominently placed poster explaining to the customers on how to handle a choking person. The city will normally provide a free (read: Ugly) poster for the business. But Stuart is a Patron d’Art and would like his bar to appear super classy. This is where you come in. The contest this year is to create the best Choking Victim poster to adorn the wall of his bar.
Here is a link to the normal poster. Your poster should be this size and contain the exact same information: http://www1.nyc.
Here are a few examples of creative alternatives to the traditional poster:
Also, feel free to visit the Facebook page for Hinterlands Bar to see some pictures of the space under-construction.
Your Entries need to be in by Halloween, Oct 31st, 2015. Email to theflophousepodcast (at) gmail (dot) com. Voting will be opened up to the community on the Flop House website on November 2nd, and will run until November 9th. The winner will be announced shortly after.
The winner of the contest will receive: 1x Flop House T-shirt of their choice & get to pick a movie that we will watch for an episode of The Flop House Podcast (not Nothing But Trouble!).
Everyone who enters: 1 free drink of their choice at Hinterlands Bar & Stuart’s eternal gratitude (valued at $0).
