2013 Awards Floptacular!

If you’re a new listener, directed here by EW’s “Must List” may we suggest you try a different episode, as the yearly Awards Floptacular is the one show that breaks our usual format and thus may not be the best introduction to what we do. Then, once you’ve decided if you like us, feel free to circle back!

* * *

It’s the closest we come to a year-in-review show, as we discuss the Oscars, highlight some of the films we watched for the podcast this last year, and honor a few 2012 movies we actually liked. Plus the usual USDA allowance of sex jokes and puns!

0:00 – 0:32 – Floptacular introduction and theme.
0:33 – 27:59 – A discussion of this year’s Academy Awards. Remember when those were on? Like three weeks ago?
28:00 – 34:50 – We give out the most prestigious awards in Hollywood, The Floppies.
34:51 – 47:34 – A special year-in-review run of recommendations.
47:35 – 59:37 – Flop House Movie Mailbag
59:38 – 1:01:00 – Goodbyes, theme, and outtakes.

  1. (I gotta keep writing comments here, I’m causing discussion on the show! I hope I didn’t make anybody mad, but its still an honor. First Timberlake’s mom/girlfriend now my joke pairing of Elliot x Allie. Lol.)

    I wasn’t actually saying that Elliot and Allie were desperately in love, I was just saying they had a great deal of comic chemistry, and Dan seemed like he was a bit out of the loop there.

    However, in this episode, Dan and Stuart were definitely making out behind Elliot’s back.

    Just gotta commend the podcast on correctly identifying the procedure in Prometheus as a C-section, unlike other podcasts (no names) who insist on referring to it as an abortion machine.

    Anyhoo …

    Much like controversy hurt award chances of “Zero Dark Thirty,” it feels like Wildegate cost “In Time” at this year’s awards although I can’t argue with it the award it did win.

    Like, Wildegate as in “my vagina died/ Sudekis has the sexual stamina of a Kenyan marathon runner” Wildegate?
