Due to the ongoing WGA – SAG/AFTRA strikes, we’re hitting pause on current releases, and focusing on some films 90’s kids will remember. And while we doubt most Smalltember(vember?) movies are union signatories, we decided to keep the train a rollin’ anyway and make this a 90s flashback Smalltember! We kick it off with 1999’s Italian-Korean-American co-production The Legend of the Titanic — a bizarre attempt to cash in on James Cameron 1997 mega-blockbuster Titanic, in the form of an animated film featuring a similar star-crossed romance, but with a lot more talking animals.

Wait didn’t we do this movie before? Don’t be ridiculous. That was Marmaduke (2010) this is Marmaduke (2022). How could you possibly have mixed that up? Anyway, this ain’t your daddy’s Marmaduke, provided you have a very young daddy (in the case of the previous film) or a very old daddy (who loves the comic). This is the animated one for Netflix, with Pete Davidson as the titular Duke of Marma. Does it make the previous one look like the Citizen Kane of Marmaduke films? Kinda!

We discuss Sherlock Gnomes, the sequel to Gnomeo and Juliet, the first movie entirely based on a stupid rhyme. Meanwhile Stuart somehow forgets the song Rocket Man, Elliott remembers every OTHER song, and Dan talks far too much about sex swings.

We just can’t stop punishing ourselves with bizarre kids’ computer animated films. Will Norm of the North be another Guardian of the Highlands or Foodfight!? Meanwhile Stuart has strong feelings on Tyrion Lannister’s political positions, Elliott mangles Sinatra, and Dan is far too distracted by his loud cat.
