Episode #81 - The Roommate

Let's take a great, trashy premise like Single White Female; cast two attractive actresses; move it to college, where too-strong emotional attachments are a matter of course... then strip it of interesting characters, a script, or the exploitation pleasures of sex and violence (thanks, PG-13!). Welcome to The Roommate. Meanwhile Elliott explains the avant garde use of collage in softcore films, Stuart is utterly baffled by the idea of a pet detective, and Dan reassures his fans that he will always be the sigh guy they know and tolerate.

0:00 - 0:41 - Introduction and theme.
0:42 - 8:29 - Stuart helps Dan deliver some big news by setting up a bit at length and then seeming totally uninterested in the payoff.
8:30 - 29:35 - We seem to have less to say about The Roommate than any prior film.
29:36 - 35:22 - Final judgments.
35:23 - 54:01 - Flop House Movie Mailbag
54:02 - 58:40 - The sad bastards recommend
58:41 - 59:51 - Goodbyes, theme, and outtakes.

Movie Minute #36 - A Shameless Plug

Due to some major life events in a couple of the floppers' lives, we had to push back the regularly scheduled episode until next week.

That's the bad news. The good news is that our good friends at I Love Bad Movies, Matt Carman and Kseniya Yarosh, have swooped in with their Frankenstein machines to resurrect the corpse of The Movie Minute, and bring us more details about the FLOP HOUSE/ I LOVE BAD MOVIES LIVE EVENT at 92Y Tribeca in Manhattan. Listen to it in your ear-holes!

Episode #80 - The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The gang's all here! What power could draw all of the increasingly busy Floppers to assemble in one place? Could it be... MAGIC? Perhaps, if we're talking the magic of Nic Cage. Less so, if we're talking The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Meanwhile, Elliott has caught the terrible pun disease from Dan, Stuart provides a classic Flop Flashback, and Dan reveals the balls-out XXX secret of this family film.

0:00 - 0:34 - Introduction and theme.
0:35 - 5:56 - The usual hosts take a few moments to reacquaint themselves, after a month of guest hosts, and begin unintentionally insulting everyone.
5:57 - 35:45 - If you're gonna make a not-so-great movie, do everyone a favor and stick Nicholas Cage and Alfred Molina in it.
35:45 - 39:00 - Final judgments.
48:31 - 55:35 - Recommendations are BUMPED for our longest Movie Mailbag yet.
55:36 - 57:42 The final letter segues into thrilling news of our first LIVE FLOP HOUSE EVENT!
57:43 - 59:08 - Goodbyes, theme, and outtakes.
