Here's something to make you feel better about the Flop House-less holiday weekend-- a couple of months back we recorded our very first commentary track, for John Ott, a filmmaker friend of Elliott's, whose 10-minute short horror movie, Stull, will soon be coming to DVD. It was a lot of fun for us, since the structure of our podcast means that we talk about the movie without any sort of visual reference for the audience, so we don't get to do this kind of riffing.
Here's a preview (if you're impatient, we kick in around 0:44).
We had a great time, and would encourage any filmmaker who doesn't mind a little ribbing to get in touch if they would like us to record a similar track. Although, for movies longer than 10 minutes, we may ask for some sort of minor payment. Stuart's Coors Lights don't come free, you know.
Free ranging, slightly inebriated conversation about bad movies, with a comedy focus. Hosted by Elliott Kalan, Dan McCoy, and Stuart Wellington (earlier episodes replace Elliott with original host Simon Fisher). Theme music by Keith Burgun. Flop House logo courtesy of John McCoy
Listener Testimonials: "Your banter is of some of the finest quality to be found out in the podcast universe."
"This show is really the best hour of comedy out there. Not including The View."
"Funny, engaging, clever-silly and the right side of laddish, and crucially for any snark-based media, they have a genuine love for their subject matter and treat excoriating the awful as a public service."
"I have fallen hopelessly in love with Stuart Wellington."
We've had reports from Zune users that if that doesn't work, you should try plugging this feed directly into your podcatching software: http://theflophouse.libsyn.com/rss
